MENTORING CABAS RANKS

Abstract: This tutorial will focus on mentorship and supervision of trainees through CABAS® ranks. We will discuss how to set up, monitor, and assess competencies across verbal behavior about the science, contingency-shaped, and verbally mediated module components. Specifically, we will cover the following: mentoring TAs through VB modules using study guides and learn unit instruction; teaching mentees to conduct strategic analyses, including curriculum analyses; measuring, recording, and displaying decisions; and supervision tactics, including use of the TPRA.
Learning Objectives:
Objective 1: Participants will learn how to mentor TAs through verbal behavior about the science modules
Objective 2: Participants will learn how to implement the CABAS® decision protocol and how to make higher-level decisions using a strategic analysis algorithm
Objective 3: Participants will be familiar with how to monitor and graph decisions involving strategic analyses
Objective 4: Participants will learn how to analyze mentees’ learning and implement supervision tactics, including the Teacher Performance Rate Accuracy (TPRA)
